PfS shortlisted as ‘Best Team’ in national awards

14 April 2009

Partnerships for Schools has been shortlisted in the ‘Best Government Team, Public Agency or Local Authority Team’ category in the Public Private Finance Awards 2009.

Tim Byles, Chief Executive of PfS, said: “News of our shortlisting for this award comes at the end of a busy and productive year for Partnerships for Schools.

“The PfS team has packed a lot into the last 12 months which has seen the opening of our 54th school, the celebration of our inaugural Excellence in BSF Awards, the introduction of new processes and guidance to make delivery of BSF more effective, timely and cost-efficient, as well as positive comments on our management of this once-in-a-lifetime programme from the National Audit Office.”

PfS is one of 10 teams in the running for the prize, which will be awarded on 19 May.

In 2006 PfS also assumed responsibility for delivery of the Academies programme.

4. The National Audit Office report into BSF, published in February 2009, stated that the programme is now being well managed and that PfS is keeping costs under control. It added: “BSF schools have been built to a higher specification and space standards than previous schools”
